In celebration of World Oceans Day, UNESCO APCEIU is hosting a film screening event to inspire audiences to rediscover the beauty and value of our oceans and to learn about the actions taken by global citizens to protect clean oceans.
Join an all-star team of heroic women on a journey that tests the courage of their spirits. 30 female soccer players from 30 different countries, summit Mount Kilimanjaro and descend to the Dead Sea, to play the highest and lowest elevation soccer matches ever played.
Through regularly-scheduled screenings and discussions, the Human Rights Watch Film Club in Los Angeles creates a forum to advance awareness of human rights issues and empower audiences with the knowledge that personal commitment can make a difference.

“Out of Plastic” is a documentary film that sets out to explore the obscure depths of plastics in the Mediterranean. The film is set in the Balearic Islands, and offers viewers a moment to reflect on the profound presence of plastic in our lives and in our natural environment. The film also offers sweeping landscapes and mystic ocean depths – the point-of-encounter between man and nature – and intends to demonstrate how our over consumption of single-use plastic has tipped the scales, to the detriment of nature, and ultimately ourselves.
